The Sealand Open Water Swim
Every year, swimmers set off from Sealand and swim 7 miles across the North Sea, navigating one of Europe's busiest shipping lanes, to the UK coast. All in aid of Aspire, the UK charity supporting people living with spinal injury.

Questions
Are these real National teams?
Yes, absolutely. These are real Sealand national teams, with every athlete representing our beloved Sealand in their respective sport and wearing the Sealand flag proudly on their uniform. They compete not as clubs, but as Sealanders carrying our national identity into sport.
How can I get involved in Sealand Sports?
It’s easy, if you want to either get involved in one of our current sports or represent in a new sport, contact Mike, the Minister for Sports and culture, either through the Sealand Sports Facebook or Instagram pages or at: minister.sport@sealandgov.org
What is the Sealand Open Water Swim?
The Sealand Swim is a 7 mile open water challenge between Sealand and the UK coast, organised by the charity Aspire. Since 2021, the event has raised an incredible £80,000 to support people living with spinal injury. Crossing one of Europe’s busiest shipping lanes, it is a serious test of endurance and resolve, with every swim helping fund Aspire’s work. For more information, or to apply, visit the Aspire website.
What is "Have A Go Heroes"?
Sealanders try new sports and make fools of themselves so you do not have to. This is a journey into new, non mainstream sports, showing that if you are leaving the likes of football, rugby, American football or hockey behind, you do not have to start from zero. We learn it, live it and embarrass ourselves first, so the path feels less daunting for the next Sealander.
What National teams does Sealand have?
Quite a few: American Football, Softball, Dodgeball, Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Sumo, Walking Football, Curling, Collegiate Wrestling, with more being added almost monthly!
